Prayer: The Mind of Christ
Father God, we thank You for this day. Thank You for keeping us in our right minds and in good health. We forgive all who have offended us and we ask You for the forgiveness of our sins. We come to you tonight on behalf of our mindsets. We desire to have the mind of Christ. In Your Word, You instruct for us to seek ye first Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Lord, let our ultimate goal be to please You and build Your kingdom. With that, we come against distractions that are sent to shift our focus and hinder us from growing in the things of You. In Romans 12:2, Paul instructs us to not be conformed to this world but to be transformed by the renewal of our mind, that by testing we may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. So as we go throughout our days, we ask that our minds are constantly renewed. When our thoughts become out of You will, we will be reminded to call our mind back to the things of You. We will not be moved, shaken, nor intimidated by the things we observe in the world around us because we are not of the world. In 2 Timothy 1:7, we can find comfort in knowing that You’ve provided us with the spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. Lord, mature us so that we are aware of the habits and actions that cause us to shift, to be easily defeated, and distraught. Grant us with self-awareness God. As we mature, we must be accountable for the things that we do. With that accountability, we can address the areas where we must grow. In 1 Corinthians 2, we are informed that the natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. We desire to know You more. We desire to commune with You. We desire to have real relationships with You. We desire revelation. Bishop warned the singles, be mindful of who you spend time with because you can’t help who you fall in love with. Well, we want to be in love with You. We want to spend time with You. We want to have intimacy with our Father. As we spend time with You, we can develop Your characteristics. And that is how we can truly develop the mind of Christ. Our decision making will change because we will have the mind of Christ. Our appetite for sin will leave because we will have the mind of Christ. Our focus on the kingdom will remain steady because we will have the mind of Christ. Our desire to serve will increase because we have the mind of Christ. Our self-control and discipline will increase because we have the mind of Christ. Our discernment will heighten because we have the mind of Christ. Lord, we thank We ask these things and believe them to be done through faith, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
